Race Descriptions

These pages include detailed descriptions of the possible races you can try on the World of Talus.

Gnomes
• +2 Constitution, -2 Strength
• Small: As a small creature, gains +1 size bonus to Armor Class, +1 size bonus on attack rolls, and a +4 sie bonus on hide check
• Base speed: 20 feet.
• Low light vision.
• +2 racial bonus on saving throw versus illusion.
• +1 racial bonus on attack roll versus kobolds and goblinoids.
• +4 dodge bonus versus giants.
• +2 racial bonus on listen checks.
• +2 racial bonus on alchemy checks.
• Subrace: Deep Gnomes, Rock Gnomes.

Deep Gnomes (Svirfneblin)
• -2 Strength, +2 dexterity, +2 wisdom, -4 Charisma.
• Darkvision up to 120 feet.
• Spell-like abilities: 1/day - Blindness as a wizard of the svirfneblin’s character level
• Stonecunning: Grants Svirfneblin +2 racial bonus on check to notice unusual stonework, such as sliding walls, and stonework traps, new construction, unsafe stone surface, shaky stone ceilings, and the like. Something that isn’t stone but is disguised as stone also counts as unusual stonework. A svirfneblin who come within 10 feet of unusual stonework can make a check as if he was actively searching.
• Nondetection: continous nondetection as the spell cast by a wizard of their character level.
• Spell resistance of 11+ character level.
• +4 dodge bonus versus all ceatues.
• +2 racial bonus on all saving throws
• +2 racial bonus on hide checks which improves to +4 in darkened areas underground
• Level Adjustment +3

Rock Gnomes
• These are your standard gnomes.

Half-Elves
• Medium-size: No bonus or penalties due to their size.
• Base speed 30 feet.
• Immunity to sleep spells and similar effects.
• +2 racial saving throw bonus versus enchantment spell or effects.
• Low-light Vision.
• +1 racial bonus on listen, search, and spot check.
• Elven blood: for all speical abilities and effects, a half-elf is considered an elf.

Half-Orcs
• +2 Strength, -2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma.
• Medium-size: no bonus or penalties due to their size.
• Darkvision 60 feet.
• Orc blood: for all speical abilities and effects, a half-orc is considered an orc.

* Bugbear (Base race: Half-Orc)
• +2 str, +2 con, +2 dex
• +1 attack
• +3 Ac
• +1 to all save, +2 extra to reflex saves
• -3 for all skills, but is offset by +2 to hide, +1 to listen, move silently and spot.
• ECL +3

* Orc 'Halforc'
• +2 str, -2 wis, +2 listen, spot; darkvision

Halflings
• +2 Dexterity, -2 Strength
• Small: +1 size bonus to Armor Class, +1 size bonus on attack rolls, +4 size bonus on hide checks.
• Base speed 20 feet.
• +2 racial bonus on climb, jump and move silently checks.
• +1 racial bonus on all saving throws.
• +2 morale bonus on saving throw versus fear (bonus stack with halfing +1 saving bonus)
• +1 racial attack bonus with throwen weapon
• +2 racial bonus on listen checks.
• Subrace: Lightfoot Halfling, Strongheart Halfling, Ghostwise Halfling.

Lightfoot Halflings
• These are your standard halflings.

Strongheart Halflings
• Gain one extra feat at 1st level.
• Does not get the halfling racial +1 bonus on saving throws.

Ghostwise Halflings
• Speak without sound: can communicate telepathically with any creature within 20 feet.
• Does not get the halfling racial +1 bonus on saving throws.

* Goblin 'halfling'
• Standard halfling with -2 char, +2 movesilent, +1 spot, +1 listen,
• +2 hide, darkvision

* Pixie 'halfling'
• -6 str, -3 con, -4 wis
• +4 dex, +2 int, +3 cha
• +5 hide, +5 move silent
• +1 Natural Armor
• base move 60 fly
• 16 spell resistance

* Brownie 'halfling'
• -4 str, -2 con, -4 wis
• +5 dex, +2 int, +1 cha
• +5 hide, +5 move silent
• +1 Natural Armor
• 16 spell resistance
